Neuroplasticity Rules

Brains grow rapidly during childhood and adolescence. People used to think that brains stop developing after the age of around 25. Neuroscientists have shown that this is not true and brains can continue to change at any age if they are stimulated in a certain way.

This ability for the brain to adapt in response to external conditions and experiences is called neuroplasticity. BrainHQ uses the following three rules of neuroplasticity to help your brain and cognitive skills develop fully.

Brains need to be subjected to frequent and repeated stimuli if they are going to respond by strengthening in the areas stimulated.

We experience hundreds of different sensations, emotions and experiences every day so this rule ensures that our brains only adapt when they really need to. 

Our brains detect that they need to adapt after they are exposed to the same trigger numerous times.

This is similar to how your muscles adapt to lifting heavy weights following intense training sessions, rather than just one or two repetitions of an exercise.

Brain are more likely to change if these frequent and intense experiences occur over a sustained period of time.

These changes are also more likely to endure if the stimuli is regularly repeated during a series of weeks and months.

ENHANCE Training Targets

These important neuroplasticity rules have been incorporated within your ENHANCE programme in the following three ways.

1 > Daily Training Commitment [Frequency]

Your ENHANCE Programme invites you to train five days per week. 

If you wish, you can also train during the weekend but we recommend taking one day off so that you are well rested for the following week.

Training days per week = 6
Training days total = 72

2 > BrainHQ Training Targets [Intensity]

BrainHQ levels are approximately three minutes long. This means that your daily training commitment of at least 5 levels is approximately 15 minutes. Remember, you can do more than 5 levels per day and this will give you greater benefits.

3> Programme Length [Duration]

By the end of this week you will already have completed 8% of your ENHANCE programme. Everyone can get off to a good start but not everyone can maintain their training commitment for all 12 weeks of the programme. 

The Magic Number​

Your training target for the 12 week programme is 300 levels. This will earn you a 3 star badge but you can upgrade this to a 4 or 5 star badge by exceeding this target.

Each BrainHQ level takes approximately 3 mins to complete. This means that your programme target is 900 mins, which equates to 15 hours.
