What’s changed

ENHANCE: Mentor Edition used to run as two longer in-person sessions. It’s now delivered as four one-hour webinars, drip-fed across four consecutive weeks, alongside roughly six hours of self-study between sessions. That self-study isn’t passive. It means completing BrainHQ training tasks directly, reflecting on the learning material covered, and starting to sketch out what a bespoke version of the programme might look like in the mentor’s own setting, whether that’s a classroom, a wing, or a team.

The four sessions build deliberately:

• Session one sets the scene: what the mentor role actually is, why it’s needed, and what the programme is trying to achieve
• Session two moves into content: reviewing self-study progress, revisiting programme goals, and understanding why the “learning” element (including the online ENHANCE courses and Gold Medal milestones) matters as much as the training itself
• Session three gets practical: using the ENHANCE Dashboard, engagement strategies, and how to work through resistance, including links to other subject areas
• Session four looks outward: the ENHANCE Playbook, planning the first “Welcome to ENHANCE” session, and a closing reflection on blind spots

Completion earns an ENHANCE certificate. It isn’t externally accredited yet, but the structure, spaced delivery, guided reflection, applied self-study, and a defined competency arc, is built with that ambition in mind.

Who it’s for

This was originally designed for our own mentors. It’s now used far more widely: teachers, education support staff, prison officers, team leaders, and L&D professionals, anyone who will be supporting someone else through the programme, in any of the settings we work in.

What’s next

Next month, we’re extending Mentor Edition somewhere new. Working with one of our international school partners, we’ll be training parents to mentor their own children through ENHANCE at home, properly trained, not just handed a login. It’s a genuine test of whether the mentor model travels beyond professional settings into the home, and we’ll be sharing what we learn.
